The Budj Bim Cultural Landscape is highly changeable and seasonal. There are six seasons of Gunditjmara Country, characterised by the climate and the lifecycles of eels, birds, bees, and reptiles. The seasonal calendar installation at the Kurtonitj Indigenous Protected Area features information on each of the seasons, and what is happening in and around the landscape at that time.
